Experience Latin America I
The goal of Experience Latin America I is to acquaint students with the cultural, historical, socio-political, literary, anthropological, health, agricultural and development issues in southern Mexico. Lectures, discussions and selected readings help establish the global and regional contexts for transcultural understanding. This course may be taken as a stand-alone survey course. However, it is primarily a preparatory course for participants selected to participate in an exciting field, optional field course component in Chiapas, Mexico. An optional 1-credit discussion course in Spanish complements IARD/LATA 4010. Interested students, register for LATA 3020.
