Travel Documents

US Citizens

You must have a valid passport.

Non-US Citizens

To depart from the US you need to bring your I-94 form. It will be turned in when you disembark from the US, and you will obtain a new one upon re-entering the US.

To enter Mexico you must have a valid passport, a visa for Mexico, and a tourist card depending on your nationality. To re-enter the US you must have a valid F-1 or J-1 visa. Students with the F-1 visa need the I-20 form [obtain it in the International Students and scholars Office (ISSO)] and those with the J-1 visa need the DS-2019 form from your sponsor. You also need the I-94 form. All international students should obtain information from the ISSO so there is clear understanding about the entry requirements. It is your responsibility to obtain the proper information.

Your documents will be checked before departing Ithaca on January 5. If they are not in order then you will be left behind. If you have any questions about travel documents then you should contact Prof. Terry Tucker. His telephone number is (607) 255-1904.
