SRI, or the System of Rice Intensification, is a climate-smart, agro-ecological methodology for increasing the productivity of rice (and more recently other crops) by changing the management of plants, soil, water and nutrients. The SRI International Network and Resources Center (SRI-Rice) contains the most comprehensive collection of information on SRI, which has shown positive results in over 50 countries. The program collaborates on projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America, including development of a global SRI research network, an SRI equipment innovation initiative, a collaborative West Africa scaling up program and a regional SRI network for Latin America.
